The subject hints that I am new to Andreamosaic and this is true. I was trying to create an irregular mosaic and the instructions say something about a maskfile and I don't know how to create one. Here is what I am trying to do.

I have an image and I am only trying to create a mosaic out of the people in the picture and leave the background as is. Any help? Thank you in advance thank you for your time.

In the User Manual it is explained how the MaskFile feature works.
I suggest you to download the Beta version. It allows you to save a Maskfile based on your mosaic parameters. Then you can open it with a Photo Editor program and paint White/Black the area that will be replaced with the background color. You can then replace the background with another image (the original image).
