Post subject: Extracted images from a movie ...
PostPosted: Fri Nov 12, 2004 2:35 pm
I used 3 different VOB files and converted them to .avi for image extraction. What I noticed is that each .avi file is broken up into 3 different image folders. That, in itself, isn't an issue, but I also noticed that images from .avi 2 and 3 have the same file names as the images from .avi 1.

In short, is there a way to ensure that .jpgs from multiple movie extractions don't have the same name? (Aside from manually renaming all the files?)

At the moment youcan rename with just one CMD-Prompt, for example with the comand
Code:
REN FR?????.JPG FR?????_MOVIE1.JPG

I can easily implement a FRAME PREFIX option, so you can choose for every AVI File the name of it. But why do you need this option? Why not leave the different frames in different subdirectories?

I'm trying to use the .jpeg images extracted from all 3 .avi files, but I can't put them all in the same folder because they have the same names. How can I use more than one directory?

Thanks in advance.

AndreaMosaic extract the Frames in different folders. Just move the folders. All the images don't have to be in the same folder. For example:

Code:
C:\My Collection\MyAVI1 FRAMES001
C:\My Collection\MyAVI1 FRAMES002
C:\My Collection\MyAVI1 FRAMES003
C:\My Collection\MyAVI2 FRAMES001
C:\My Collection\MyAVI2 FRAMES002
C:\My Collection\MyAVI2 FRAMES003

Then create the ImageCollection in C:\My Collection. AndreaMosaic will use all images in that directory and subdirectories.

What did you use to create the AVIs from your VOBs? I've tried various programs to create AVIs or MPGs, and even though they always work in Windows Media Player, AndreaMosaic won't accept them.

Your creation process is OK. What you need is the Video for Windows codec for your compressed AVI. For DivX for example there exist the Video for Windows codec for Divx and the DirectX codec for DivX.
Actually the Video for Windows codecs are starting to disappear, as a replacement of the DirectX codecs. In any case actually when I install Divx505, XVid and DivX TotalPack 1.7 it seems that these codecs are installed too.

I guess what I don't understand is, the videos I create will play in Windows Media Player, and I thought that AndreaMosaic would accept any video that plays in Windows Media Player (as long as it is called .avi or .mpg). Even if the videos play in WMP, do I still need to install a divx codec pack?
