Post subject:  User uploaded images - search/find within mosaic

Hi Andrea,

First of all I would like to say what a great product you have here - and free - wow!

I hope you can help me. I am a tech volunteer for a charity - http://www.bulembu.org

I am putting together a campaign whereby a user/visitor makes a small donation and then uploads his/her picture for inclusion in our photomosaic. I think I have worked out all the steps apart from the fact that we would like to have the option for users to view their image (zoom in) once it has been processed into the mosaic. After much investigation I beleive this is done by associating the image with some metadata (eg an email address) the user then enters this email address and they are taken directly to their image in the mosaic. Basically I think the image metadata has to be targeted within the confines of the overall mosaic.

Basically i am trying to emulate any of these:
Lexus: http://archive.teamone-usa.com/ismosaic/prelaunch/ (find via email address)
Save the Tiger : http://www.panda.org/how_you_can_help/campaign/endtigertrade/viewer.cfm (find via code)
Pedigree : http://www.milliondogmosaic.com/pedigree/mosaic.php (find via code)

Would you know how this can be achieved or if you could alter your mosaic code to have this functionality. While we are a charity, we do have a small budget and would be happy to work out some compensation for this feature.

Thanks for your assistance
Neil

Hi Neil,

I'm very sorry to read only now your message. Got no email about your post. Sure I can help you with your project.
The three examples you provided are all made with custom Flash programs. Actually I don't know if there are any free around.
But for sure we can find a solution.

I am right now looking at Deep Zoom and Silverlight from Microsoft, I think it will be possible to customize it enough to meet your and other needs.
