21200 pixels side... roughly 53x29 inches at 400ppi. I'm getting an out of error message. Thanks!

This is a relatively small file, around 200 megapixels. So it's strange that you get such a message.
What error message do you get exactly and when (read the status bar of AndreaMosaic, so I know in what step it will happen)?
What OS do you have and how much RAM do you have?
How big is the Original Image that you use?
Are you using a MaskFile?
How many tiles are in your collection?
How many tiles are in your mosaic?
Did you tried to set Mosaic Size: 210 MP
(that's the biggest size for the standard version)

thanks for getting back so soon. you're right, 246 mp. i was going to upload a screen shot but i'll just type it in... please note: i upgraded to the pro version so i thought this wouldn't happen .

anyway, here are my settings...

Mac OSX 10.6.2
2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
3 GB 533 Mhz Ram

original image: 53x29 inches, 400 ppi.
don't believe i'm using a mask file. what's that for anyway?
tiles: 10,000
same tile up to 50x
tile variants (only original selected)
error: "out of memory while allocating an image made of 21200x1160 pixels."
It says it's processed 0%.

i'm in a jam here: this is due tomorrow am and i've been fiddling with this for a couple of days now thank you...

I’m preparing for you a build of AndreaMosaic that uses less memory. It will be ready within an hour. But in any case I need to find out what is exactly causing the memory problem.
The following settings affect memory usage (are you using these values?):

Tile Size: 10000 tiles
Use same tile up to: 50 times
Duplicate Spacing: xxx Tiles Minimum? <= What value are you using?

How many images do you have in your image/tile collection?

P.S.: With a Maskfile you can create mosaics with irregular tiles, borders. It's useful for making artistic mosaics. In the last pages of the User Manual there is an explanation on how to use them
