I want to create a very large mosaic (4 feet wide, 8 feet high), but I want to create it out of printed materials I already have.

I have thousands of 2.5" x 3.5" printed cards. I am going to scan each image in, use those scans to create a mosaic and then print out the mosaic at the 4' x 8' size.

I will then lay down the print on a board to use as a template and glue the printed cards on top of the template.

Sort of like making a mosaic out of stamps, or labels, tiles or any other printed material that is "set" in size.

How do I set your software to make sure that the pictures being used are not to be scaled? I'm OK with them cropping or rotating, but they can't be scaled up or down.

I'm familiar with resolution, pixels and all the graphic terms, but I just wanted to make sure this was possible before I go ahead with my new project

If all cards have the same size then scaling is not necessary.
- Use AndreaMosaic Standard or DSLR/NTSC version (or download the Beta version, it has an initial menu allowing you to choose the tile aspect ratio).
The tiles will be cropped because 2.5"x3.5" does not fit on of the aspect ratios 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, 1:1.
- Set Tile Size parameter to 3.5" or 3.4" and check in the mosaic information area the effective resulting tile size (switch to inch in the mosaic information area).
- Set Mosaic Size to 8'.
- Set Resolution to a low value, like 50 PPI, you don't need a high resolution image.

bye
Andrea
